face to face support groups
MISS are currently running all of the support groups online through Zoom however when the covid restrictions allow, we will be returning to some of the face sessions as well as keeping with some of the online sessions. This may help with some members for travel, returning to work etc. Held on the second Thursday of each month, 7:15-9:30pm. There is a speaker who delivers approximately a 30 minute workshop with questions after. We have a different speaker each month to provide information, advice as well as giving tips on coping strategies after a loss and how to move forward. The evening finishes with open discussion and a poem/short story to finish.
Another group is held on the third Monday of each month, 10-11am. This is a cuppa and chat session!
We also offer 1:1 sessions with any new or existing members. Meeting at a quiet, relaxing and public space or on Zoom (with or without video) which is flexible for both the MISS volunteer and member to speak. Sessions can vary for duration and how long is required by member, 20 minutes or 2 hours. This time can be used for you to share your experience, cry, ask questions or anything else. We are here to support and listen.
One of our MISS volunteers will be available to speak to you at any time of day. This could be speaking on the phone, Whatsapp or by message. We have a male and female volunteer available to speak. We are open throughout all holidays and seasons as we appreciate that every day can be a milestone or anniversary for your baby.
All calls are free and confidential.
